DISCLAIMER
I understand that there are inherent risks involved with powerboat trips, including but not limited to sudden movements, changes of speed and direction, environmental hazards, bouncing and jerking motions.
As the lead persons booking, I hereby assume such risks for myself and my party.
These trips can cause sudden movements and stress to the muscular and skeletal system and put pressure on the spine in particular. I understand that I have a duty to exercise reasonable care for my own safety and I agree to do so.
I and my party will follow the guidance of the Safety Brief provided by the vessel crew. I and my party understand that this trip is NOT A THRILL RIDE.
In the event I or any member of my party show signs of distress or call for aid, I would like assistance and will not hold Bay Island Voyages, their crew or passengers responsible for their actions in attempting the performance or rescue of first aid.
I and my party agree that during the vessel voyage, if I/they should feel any discomfort, I/they will notify the crew immediately.
You CANNOT RIDE with us if you have/are the following:-
* A back injury or ailment
* Pregnant
* Under the influence of alcohol or drugs
* Any underlying medical condition/ailment that may be affected by undertaking a trip with us. ( please contact us to discuss prior to your trip, we may be unable to refund or reschedule your trip if you do not notify us in advance)
FAQs and Terms and Conditions
If we haven’t addressed what you’re looking for, further questions can be answered via our contact us page or alternatively you can call us on 07393 470476.
All trips conducted by Bay Island Voyages are NOT Thrill Rides. However, due to the manoeuvrability of the boats anyone with pre-existing conditions such as back pain, neck pain, previous injuries that could be aggravated by any sudden movements; or if you are pregnant will not be able to participate.
We reserve the right to refuse to carry anyone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. We also ask that if you have any pre-existing medical conditions, for example epilepsy, limb in plaster etc you let us know before travelling so we can be aware of them.
Whilst we are an inclusive provider, safety of our passengers comes first. There are limitations for access onto the boats, therefore we ask that anyone with a physical disability contact us prior to booking, to ensure that we are able to safely get you aboard.
Our trips are suitable for all ages; however, the only restriction we have is that people are at least 1.1 meters tall, able to reach the footrests and can hold onto the safety bar in front of them throughout the trip.
Children cannot sit with/on parents laps. There is a strict 1 person per seat rule.
We can arrange slower trips if required as a group, and consider people under the 1.1-meter limit.
We can take a maximum of 12 people per boat. We have 3 boats so can take a maximum of 36 people depending on the type of trip you require.
We need a minimum of 6 people to run a trip. Each boat can take a maximum of 12 people. If you have a group smaller than 6 we can put you together with other groups to get a trip that can run.
Prior to your trip if the required number of people is not reached, the booking may be rescheduled or cancelled. In this case we will offer a full refund or transfer to another day/time.
It tends to be a lot colder at sea than it is on the land.
Depending on what trip you are taking with us and the time of the year, we suggest layers of clothing and if you have waterproof trousers and jackets we suggest you bring them, you can always leave them in your seat locker.
A life jacket will be provided and fitted for every passenger.
It depends on the weather, but for most trips you will probably get at least a little splash. The only trip where you probably won’t get wet is a Bay Voyage, as long as it is not raining.
If your trip is out at sea, conditions can change quite quickly, so it is always better to have extra layers/waterproofs just in case.
The weather can change at short notice, therefore it can require the need to cancel trips. Should this be the case then as much notice as possible will be given. You will be given the choice to arrange an alternative trip or a full refund will be given.
Rain does not stop the trips going ahead, hence the suggestion that you bring waterproofs if the weather looks unfavourable.
We only cancel if weather/sea conditions do not look favourable for the booked trip, the skipper will make the final decision and the call will solely be made on the safety of passengers. We want you to have a pleasant experience with us.
All deposits are non refundable.
Upon full payment if you cancel:
- Up to 48hrs prior to your trip start time 100% refund will be given.
- Under 48hrs prior to your trip, then we reserve the right to withhold the full amount.
All cancellations should be made via phone, followed with an email for request of refund or alternative date.
If your trip is cancelled by Bay Island Voyages, you will be entitled to a full refund or alternative trip date..
Should all of our available time slots be full, feel free to drop us an email or give us a call. We may be able to schedule further trips depending on availability.
Any trips out at sea are fully dependant on the tides. Tides restrict access to and from Cardiff Bay, together with landing on Flat Holm and Steep Holm Island. With this in mind, we have to schedule these trips accordingly.
